Our food is best described as British & European with a colonial twist. We keep our menu descriptions simple and let our food speak for itself. By changing our menu daily we are able to serve fresh food at reasonable prices. We source our food locally and from national suppliers.  We are not cheep but we do not compromise on ingredients.

Meet the Chef


 Meet Tonny our chef, when he’s not in the kitchen he doubles as one of our experienced Owners…

"My hotel school training and previous experience includes butchery, fishmongery, bakery, patisserie and some 30 years or so cooking. I prepare all our food in our own kitchen. 

"Having worked around Europe I like to produce unknown traditional French food, Italian, colonial inspired food as well as Dutch or British. And I will try anything new. We have a temperature controlled food vehicle with which I regularly drive to local producers to see what they have on offer.

"I have come home with wild trout, capons, squirrel, goat, munt jac, locally grown mushrooms, foraged mushrooms and purple carrots, just name a few. I am very excited about more modern food products like sakura micro herbs, pea shoots or wheat grass. Edible flowers feature regularly on my menus. Brilliant way to make lovely tasting food look fantastic.
"When I am not cooking I help Karen running the hotel. After which it is book keeping with a bottle of Amarone della Valpolicella. Wine is my favourite tipple and I like to keep a stock of rare and fine wines as well as day to day
beauties."

We purchase wine from many suppliers in batches and replace these with different wines
each time. If you are looking for a certain wine for an event, please contact us with your
chosen wine. Payment is required up front and we will then store the wine for you.
